Inspired by traditional quilts my work is given a contemporary feel by the use of curved lines, bright hand-dyed fabrics and extensive free-motion machine quilting. My aim is to create a strong impact which will invite the viewer to look at first from a distance and then close up to examine the detail more fully. I hope they leave the piece having experienced some of the pleasure I get when making a quilt. If this happens then I have achieved my goal!
